UYL SQUAD ANNOUNCED
Ryan Casciaro has named his squad that will travel to Bosnia next week to take on HŠK Zrinjski Mostar in the first leg of their UEFA Youth League Domestic Champions Path first-round tie.
The young Imps were drawn against the Bosnian youth champions, with the first leg taking place in Bosnia on Wednesday 16th September before the return leg is played in Gibraltar on Tuesday 13th October.
While this will be the first trip to Bosnia for many of the squad, it is not the first time the club has travelled to Mostar, having visited the city last season for their opening UEFA Conference League league phase fixture.
Zrinjski are an experienced side in the UEFA Youth League, having competed in the competition on four previous occasions. While they have suffered defeats against the likes of FC Zürich, FC Midtjylland and Dinamo Tbilisi, the Bosnian side recorded their first victory in the competition in 2019, defeating MTK Budapest to progress through the first round.
Ryan Casciaro's squad has undergone a number of changes from the side that created history by defeating Naxxar Lions last season, but this represents an excellent opportunity for a new generation of Lincoln players to step up and make their mark on the European stage.
The young Imps will travel to Bosnia full of confidence and momentum after making a perfect start to their campaign, recording victories over Mons Calpe and Lions Gibraltar.
