TWENTY-TWO IMPS CALLED UP FOR INTERNATIONAL DUTY

22-09-2026

Twenty-two Imps have been called up for international duty across three different Gibraltar squads ahead of a busy few weeks of international football.

Fourteen Imps Named in Gibraltar U17 Squad

Fourteen of our young Imps have been named in the Gibraltar U17 squad for their UEFA U17 European Championship campaign, where they will face Iceland, Greece and hosts Bosnia & Herzegovina.

For some of the players, it will be a familiar setting after they travelled to Bosnia last week for our UEFA Youth League clash against HŠK Zrinjski Mostar.

Illies Achhoud Amziane, Lucas Becerra, Ryan Casciaro, Aaron Cordon, Aiden Desoiza, Kaion Drakes, Evan Garro, Robert Guiling, Filipe Hill, Lucas Hill, Julian Lima, Leon Martinez, Liam Payas and Matthew Sanchez have all been called up.

The young Gibraltarians begin their campaign against Iceland tomorrow at 2pm.

Coombes and McMahon Named in U21 Squad

Head coach David Ochello has called up Jay Coombes, while Owen McMahon has been handed his first-ever call-up to a Gibraltar international squad.

After impressing during the summer with the first team and making his UEFA Youth League debut last week, Owen earns his first opportunity with the U21s.

Gibraltar will conclude their UEFA European U21 Championship qualifying campaign with away fixtures against Portugal on 30 September and Azerbaijan on 6 October.

Six Imps Included in Senior Squad

Jaylan Hankins, Ethan Britto, Ethan Jolley, Bernardo Lopes, Leon Mason and Graeme Torrilla have all been named in Gibraltar’s senior squad for four upcoming fixtures.

Scott Wiseman’s men begin with a friendly against São Tomé and Príncipe tomorrow, followed by their UEFA Nations League – League D opener against Andorra on Sunday. Both fixtures will be played at the Europa Point Stadium.

Gibraltar will then travel to Malta for their second Nations League fixture on 1 October before rounding off the international window with an away friendly against Liechtenstein on 5 October.

Everyone at Lincoln Red Imps would like to wish our players, their respective squads and the coaching staff the very best of luck over the coming weeks.
