Imps Trio Selected for FIFA U15 World Cup Festival
Lincoln Red Imps are delighted to announce that Kallum Penfold, Julian Parody and Lui Kessack have been selected to represent the Gibraltar National Team at the upcoming FIFA U15 World Cup Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Gibraltar squad will travel to Baku tomorrow ahead of an exciting tournament that will see them compete against opposition from across the globe.
Drawn in Group V, Gibraltar will begin their campaign against Bolivia on Saturday 24th October, before facing Seychelles on Sunday 25th October. They will then face a busy Monday 26th October, with a double-header against Paraguay and Tahiti.
We caught up with Lincoln U16 Red Head Coach Karl Olivero, who expressed his pride at seeing three of his players earn the opportunity to represent their country on the international stage.
"As a coach, I couldn't be prouder to see three of our players selected to represent Gibraltar at the FIFA U15 World Cup Festival. This is a fantastic achievement for the boys and a reward for the hard work, dedication and commitment they have shown throughout their development.
"Opportunities like these are invaluable for young players, allowing them to gain international experience, test themselves against different opposition and continue growing both on and off the pitch.
"Everyone at the club is extremely proud of them, and I wish them all the very best."
The selection of Kallum, Julian and Lui is another proud moment for our Academy and reflects the continued hard work being carried out across our youth development programme.
Everyone at Lincoln Red Imps wishes Kallum, Julian, Lui and the entire Gibraltar squad and coaching staff the very best of luck as they prepare to represent Gibraltar in Azerbaijan.
